Frequently asked questions
How long is the walk?
There are four different routes you can choose from, all starting and finishing in Battersea Park. There is a 1km, 6km and a 10km route, which are all fully accessible, and a 20km route which is less accessible.
How accessible are the routes?
The 1km, 6km and 10km routes are all fully accessible. We have tried to make our 20km route as accessible as possible too.
Although every care is taken to ensure that the routes are wheelchair accessible, the MS Society does not take responsibility for any unforeseen circumstances. This includes pathway closures, maintenance or adverse weather which may affect this route. In the event of unforeseen path closures, we will try where possible to plan an alternative accessible route.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are no age limits, but we do ask that you take care when buying the tickets as they relate to how old the person is that will be attending.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
You can bring under 5s to the event but we ask you to register them for a free ticket. This will help us to know the exact number of participants.
You can bring your dogs.
Water will be available but do bring a bottle yourself.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No, tickets are not transferrable.
What is the refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have a list of people that have registered so you will need to come and register at the Bandstand in Battersea Park by telling us your name.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
We will have details for the person named on the ticket - so you can't take someone's place unfortunately.
What facilities will be available on the day?
Toilets will be available including accessible facilities.
There will be catering vans where you can purchase refreshments.
What are the timings for the day?
We will release precise timings in the emails closer to the event and in the joining instructions. Registration on the day will be open from 8am or 9am based on your route, and our charity village will close at 5pm.
Can I sign up on the day?
Online registration closes on Friday 21 September. Unless the event has sold out, tickets will be available to purchase on the morning of MS Walk. On the day prices will be £20 for an adult and £10 for under 18s.
How do I get to Battersea Park?
All 4 of the routes start in Battersea Park.
We recommend using public transport, but if you need to drive, there are a number of car parks in the Park, all pay and display. There are a limited number of free Blue Badge holder bays in the car parks, available on a first come first served basis.
For information about parking, please see the Battersea park website.
Overground: Battersea Park and Queenstown Road Stations are close by, but are not accessible. The closest accessible station is Victoria with a short bus ride.
Underground: Sloane Square is the closest underground station, but is not accessible. Again, Victoria is the closest accessible station with a short bus ride to the park.
Bus: Many different buses pass by or near the park. Please check the Transport for London website for more information.
