Walkers set off at MS Walk Cardiff

MS Walk 2024 frequently asked questions

Answering your questions about MS Walk 2024.

How much does registration cost?

The registration fee for MS Walk is £15 for adults, £7 for under 18s and free for under 5s.

On the day, registration costs are the same as above.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable as per our event terms and conditions.

We've suggested a sponsorship target is £100. However, this is only suggested and isn't a minimum requirement. Your entry fee helps cover the cost of putting on MS Walk. But by raising even more funds for research, you can help us stop MS.

Why isn’t there a walk in Bristol in 2024?

We understand this will be a disappointment for some, as it is for us. But due to financial limitations, we’ve had to make the hard decision to remove Bristol from the series. We hope to return to Bristol again in the future. But in the meantime, you can join a nearby event, like MS Walk Cardiff. Or take on one of our virtual challenges such as My MS Walk.

What will supporters get?

A fundraising pack and MS Walk t-shirt. If the t-shirt doesn’t arrive in time, t-shirts will be available to collect on the day. Digital and physical maps will be available, and a medal presented at the end.

Can I bring children and dogs?

You can bring under 5s to the event, but we ask you order them a free ticket to help us know exact numbers of people taking part. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Children can bring bikes and scooters.

You can bring your dogs too!

Do I need to bring water?

Water will be available but do bring a bottle.

Can I pay for tickets and merchandise on the day with cash?

We are a mostly cashless event and therefore encourage you to pay with card.

Can I change my event distance?

Yes, you can. Just let us know the new distance you would like to do.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we'll have a list of people who've registered, so you can give your name when you sign in on the day.

What are the timings for the event?

Registration and sign-in opens at 9am and the MS Walk welcome and warm-up is at 10am.   Please check your event guide for when the event closes.

How accurate are the distances?

Distances are estimated and whilst we try to be as accurate as possible there may be some variation.

How shall I travel to the event?

We suggest using public transport, but all our venues have parking nearby if needed.

You can find more transport details in the event guide that will be emailed to you before the event takes place.

Please make sure you've checked for engineering works in the area, whichever way you get there.

What facilities will be available on the day?

All venues will have access to toilets and disabled toilets. As well as food and drink vendors nearby.

There will be a DJ and face painters on the day and a warm-up at 10am.

What health and safety measures will there be?

There'll be medical support based at the event site that can attend to medical issues. In case of a medical emergency please call 999. Then inform the MS Society emergency contact number found in your event guide.

You need to be physically fit enough to complete the route you have chosen and accept that you do so entirely at your own risk. It's your responsibility to decide if you're able to take part in the event. On the day, you shouldn't take part if you feel unwell.
