After a staff vote in November 2017, the MS Society was chosen as REaD Group’s Charity of the Year Partner 2018.
With a target to raise £10,000, the leading data communications company held festive fundraisers to kick start their fundraising.
A Christmas Jumper Day and a Price for a Slice bake sale later, REaD Group were well on their way towards their goal.
New year, new challenges
To welcome in the New Year, a fearless group of employees braved a charity wax off to raise an eye-watering £512.
In June, 30 employees (including Bella the Dog) took on the 10 Peaks Challenge – reaching ten of the Lake District’s highest peaks in 24 hours. The super staff crossed the line having secured a huge £10,000 worth of donations.
A cause close to our hearts
Scott Logie, Customer Engagement Director at REaD Group, said: “We are really proud to be raising funds this year for the MS Society. It’s a great charity and a cause close to our hearts with a number of people in the company who have friends or family who have been affected.
“It shows the level of engagement that nearly half of our staff took time to travel 250 miles to the Lake District to walk in sweltering heat for 10 hours to scale 10 peaks and, most importantly, raise £10,000.”
Support in other ways
Fundraising aside, the REaD Group supported the MS Society Awards and offered pro bono support to our data management team.
Fast forward to December 2018 and REaD Group had raised over £13,000 for people living with MS. Thank you to everyone at the company for their brilliant fundraising efforts!
