Our anniversary: 60 years of the MS Society

In 1953, Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing became the first people to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

That same year, Westminster Abbey saw the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and rock and roll was born when Bill Haley gave his first performance of Rock Around the Clock.

MS Helpline hours extend to Saturday mornings

The MS Helpline takes 13,000 enquiries a year – and they’re now trialling a Saturday morning service to support even more people affected by MS.

Hilary’s story – becoming the new chair of the MS Society

The MS Society has appointed a new Chair to take over from Tony Kennan CBE, who steps down after six years as Chairman at the charity’s upcoming AGM on 10 September. Hilary Sears will take up the post on 1 January.
