Soul music singer Junior Giscombe announced as our new Ambassador

We’re excited to announce Grammy award-winning artist Junior Giscombe as our newest Ambassador

Best known for his classic 80s hit ‘Mama Used to Say,’ Junior’s partner Nardia and daughter Jenique both lived with MS.

A special honour

Junior has supported us for many years, attending our events and helping raise awareness of MS in the media. He also performed at last year’s Carols by Candlelight concert.

He shared Jenique’s story in this moving video to raise awareness of our Stop MS appeal.

In an exclusive interview with our MS Matters magazine, Junior talks about his family’s experience of MS. And his pride on becoming one of our Ambassadors:

“I watched the slow decline of health of two members of my family. The experience provided me with a valuable insight from a carer’s perspective. I have always wanted to share my experience and my story, to bring awareness to this debilitating condition. Being asked to become an Ambassador is a special honour for me. I am truly humbled.”

Long-time supporter

Our Chief Executive, Nick Moberly, says: “Junior has been one of our long-time supporters and we’re over-the-moon he has joined us as our new Ambassador. MS can be debilitating, exhausting and unpredictable and Junior’s allyship will help us to continue supporting all those affected by MS in the UK.

Junior’s first act as a new Ambassador will be performing at our Carols by Candlelight service in December. We’re thrilled he’ll be joining us again to share his incredible talent.”

Tickets to see Junior perform at our Carols by Candlelight concert are on sale now.
