Reading has huge benefits for health and wellbeing. Studies show adults who read for just 30 minutes a week are 20% more likely to report great life satisfaction.

On the last week Thursday of each month we'll come together for an hour to discuss a short story. We'll have picked the book the month before from The Reading Agency's Quick Reads selection.

You'll need to source the books yourself. And they'll be available for £1 or less, whether you're buying the book or downloading it digitally.

The book to read for April is Dead Man Talking by Roddy Doyle

What will I need to take part?

We use Zoom, a video meeting software for our events. So all you need to join is a laptop, tablet, phone or computer with a stable internet connection.

Download Zoom for free on their website

When I join the webinar can other people see or hear me?

No, you can’t be seen or heard by other participants.

Can I ask questions?

Yes, usually you can ask questions and make comments. The facilitator will tell participants how to do this. When there are more than 100 participants, our license will only allow the first 100 people to ask questions during the event.

Please note we can’t respond or offer advice to questions about your specific circumstances or anything relating to your own personal health. Questions will be collated and we will try to cover your queries if not your specific question.

What should I do if I can no longer attend?

If you're unable to take part, please email us at [email protected] so we can give your place to someone else.

And please keep an eye out for other Living Well services.
