Claiming Personal Independence Payment (booklet)

Many people with MS can claim Personal Independence Payment (PIP). PIP is a benefit that can help cover the extra costs you may face if you need help doing everyday tasks or find it difficult to get around outside your home.

This booklet has been written for people with MS who are going through the PIP claims process. It looks at:

  • whether you are eligible to claim
  • the assessment process
  • completing the questionnaire
  • the face-to-face consultation
  • how to appeal if you are unhappy with a decision

The booklet includes a pull-out section with the descriptors used by the assessor when looking at your claim.

We've also included a Word and PDF template for keeping a PIP diary. Which is useful when you come to assessment.

You can also find more information on our webpages about PIP.
