An opportunity to give something back

Angela shares why she's kindly making a donation to us in her will.

The MS Society have been such a great support to my brother Paul and I want to give something back, say thank you and help change the future for younger people coming through with MS. That’s why including a gift in my will to support their future life changing work is something I feel so good about.

I’ve been on the MS journey with my brother Paul since he was diagnosed in his twenties. He’s now in his late fifties and still managing to live a full life. I believe this is all down to the support he’s been given by his loving family, friends and the MS Society.

Despite his MS affecting his walking and now his balance, Paul’s been amazing. Just carrying on, enjoying his life and being a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. He’s started getting terrible headaches now and is having short-term memory loss. But I don’t know anybody who has as many friends as my brother and I have lots of respect for how he’s dealing with his MS.

Delighted by the support given

Paul helps himself a lot, exercising regularly and swimming daily, and he’s had a lot of support from the company he works for. But I’m especially delighted at the support Paul’s been given by the MS Society. It’s so important to me and why I've chosen to leave a gift in my will to support their future work.

I’m thrilled that Paul’s been accepted to be part of one of the innovative trials the MS Society runs. He’s hoping in 20 years’ time his contribution will make a difference and move treatments forward.

This gives him a sense of purpose, as he’ll be helping advance research that could benefit countless others. I think it’s all very interesting and so important to give younger people diagnosed with MS hope.

I want to support the MS Society so I can give something back

When I called the MS Society recently to ask about writing my will, it was the first time I’d mentioned the idea of me including a gift to the MS Society to my husband. He was very happy to be part of this. We don’t have children and do want to leave something to my brother and his daughters. But when I told Paul I was planning to include something for the MS Society he agreed it was a lovely idea and an amazing thing for me to do.

Thank you

MS is important to me because of my brother’s situation. The MS Society has been such a great support and I really want to give something back, say thank you and help change the future for younger people coming through with MS. That’s why including a gift in my will to support that work is something I feel so good about.
