Disability Pride Month and MS

Tuesday 4 July 2023

July is Disability Pride Month, an international awareness month that celebrates disabled people.

It's a celebration that highlights the creativity, resilience, and achievements of disabled people. It's also a time to celebrate the diversity in our community and reject stigma, discrimination, and ableism that prevents equality for everyone.

My MS identity is growing every day, I’m truly out about it and living my best life.

Disability and MS

Everyone with MS in England, Wales and Scotland automatically meets the disability definition under the Equality Act 2010 from the day they’re diagnosed. In Northern Ireland people diagnosed with MS are protected by the Disability Discrimination Act.

That means everyone with MS and the people around us have protection from discrimination by law.
