Osteopathy

Osteopathy works with the body’s bones, joints, muscles and ligaments.

Techniques include manipulating muscles, sometimes using short sharp movements, gentle massage and rhythmic joint movements.

Osteopathy and MS

There hasn't been much published research into osteopathy and MS. Some small studies have looked at whether it can help with fatigue, anxiety and depression. And one looked at how it might help mobility when combined with an exercise program. But more research is needed to understand how this therapy might help.

Osteopathic manipulation is generally well tolerated, but, there’s a low risk of problems from some procedures including spinal trauma and stroke.

Speak to your GP or MS team if you're thinking of trying it.
