Call your MP
We need MPs to hear from all of us with a clear message to protect disability benefits. That’s why we’re asking you to pick up the phone and call your MP.
To find out who your MP is and their contact details, you can search the Directory of MPs by postcode. Your MP’s constituency phone number might come up straight away or they might have a website with the contact details.
If you’re having any difficulty finding their number, you can call Parliament’s switchboard on 020 7219 3000. And ask to be transferred to their office.
What to say to your MP
If you’re wondering what to say on the phone, here are a few top tips.
- Tell your MP’s office that you’re a constituent and give them your name and postcode
- Explain you’re calling about the government’s proposed benefit cuts and briefly say why you are concerned
- If you or a loved one are worried about being personally affected by the cuts, you might want to share some of your story and the impact these changes might have on you
Calling your MP’s constituency office is a quick and easy way to get your message across. It’s our MPs job to listen to us and represent us. And MPs want to hear from us, our stories and the issues that matter most to us.
