WCA for ESA and Universal Credit booklet
The booklet includes:
- A step-by step guide to filling in the questionnaire.
- What happens at the face-to-face assessment.
- How to challenge a decision you disagree with.
- A second booklet with the WCA descriptors. This is the wording the Department for Work and Pensions uses to assess your claim.
Before the WCA
The WCA isn’t the first step in claiming ESA or Universal Credit. If you haven’t already applied (or been asked to complete the WCA), use gov.uk to check if you might qualify. If you can’t get online, give the MS Helpline a call on 0808 800 8000.
Claiming one benefit can sometimes affect another. A benefits adviser can help you make the right decisions for you. Get in touch with our MS Benefits Adviser by calling the Helpline on 0808 800 8000 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or find a local adviser through Citizens Advice.
