For family and friends - when someone close to you has MS
‘For family and friends – when someone close to you has MS’ is a brand new booklet that looks at the issues for partners, family members and friends of people who’ve had a diagnosis of MS.
It covers common questions and worries, what to say when someone has MS and information for couples and people with children.
The booklet also looks at issues for carers and where we are now with treatment for MS. Each section is full of practical tips, information on where to get support and is illustrated with pictures and quotes from people with MS and their loved ones.
In relapsing remitting MS, people have distinct attacks of symptoms which then fade away either partially or completely. Around 85% of people with MS are diagnosed with this type.
Secondary progressive MS is a stage of MS which comes after relapsing remitting MS for many people. With this type of MS your disability gets steadily worse. Find out more about what changes might happen.
