Executive Group and Country Directors
The Executive Group is responsible for our day-to-day running. They make sure we're using our resources to make the biggest impact we can for people with MS.
Through our Chief Executive they report directly to our Board of Trustees.
Nick Moberly
Chief Executive
I joined the MS Society as Chief Executive at the beginning of 2019. My background is in the health sector and I’ve worked in senior leadership positions within the NHS for the past 15 years. Most recently I was CEO at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
During my career in the NHS, I've seen the impact that neurological conditions like MS can have. I'm keen to contribute my energies to making sure everyone affected by MS gets the best deal possible, through research, support, fundraising and campaigning across the UK. Alongside my role at the MS Society, I’m also a non-executive director of NHS Property Services and Vice Chair of Christian Aid.
Vicky Annis
Executive Director of Corporate Services
I’m excited to be able to use my professional skills to help people living with MS.
I have over 20 years’ experience in various non-profit organisations including the NHS, local and central government and various charities.
My areas of responsibility include Finance, HR, EDI, ICT, Data, Facilities Management, Strategy and Impact, basically supporting and enabling everyone within the MS Society to achieve such a worthwhile aim.
Gavin Atkins
Executive Director of Support and Services
I joined the MS Society as Executive Director of Services and Support in February 2024. Prior to this I worked for the mental health charity Mind for 11 years, in roles that supported their network of local Minds to deliver services, linking national and local services together and putting people's lived experience at the heart of their work.
At the MS Society I am responsible for our national and local services and community, including our incredible network of local groups who provide vital support via volunteers and peers. I am passionate about enabling people centred support, and the role that volunteers play in doing that.
Shelley Elgin
Director for Wales/Cymru
I joined the MS Society in 2022. I've over 10 years experience working with charities in Wales including, Help for Heroes, Alzheimer's Society and RNID.
I'm passionate about working with policymakers to improve the quality and availability of treatment, care and support services for people across Wales. I want to ensure the voices of people living with and affected by MS are heard. I've a keen interest in co-production and developing our volunteers and local groups for the support they offer the MS community.
Stewart Finn
Director for Northern Ireland
I have a background in politics, having been part of the Northern Ireland Assembly in the decade that followed the Good Friday Agreement. I joined the MS Society 7 years ago as Policy, Press, and Campaigns Manager before becoming the Director for Northern Ireland in 2024.
My passion lies in true coproduction, working closely with people living with MS to shape and improve the public policy, services, and support that impacts their lives. I am deeply committed to the development of our network of local groups and volunteers, enhancing our community and the support they provide to people living with MS in Northern Ireland.
Dr Sarah Rawlings
Executive Director of Research and External Affairs
I joined the MS Society in November 2020 after working at the Policy Institute at King’s College London as the Deputy Director and Director of Policy Impact and Engagement. Before that, I spent over 12 years working in senior roles in the charity sector.
l oversee our policy, PR and influencing work, as well as our research programme. My focus is on making sure our vital research continues, and that the changing needs of the MS community get the attention they deserve in government.
Ed Tait
Executive Director of Engagement and Income Generation
I was delighted to join the MS Society in September 2022. I have held various fundraising roles, most recently Director of Fundraising at ActionAid and Crisis.
l oversee engagement and income generation, which includes brand, marketing, digital, content, all areas of fundraising and retail. I'm really keen to work in collaboration with our community to reach and engage more people so we can raise more income, deliver more impact, and ultimately stop MS.
Morna Simpkins
Director for Scotland
I'm delighted to be working with our team at MS Society Scotland to achieve the best possible outcomes for people with MS.
My passion and commitment is to the third sector and social justice.
Most recently I was Chief Executive of Dundee Voluntary Action, a third sector infrastructure organisation. My role was to provide leadership and strategic direction, working with voluntary groups, volunteers, funders, community planning partners and other stakeholders.
