John Stillitz

John was diagnosed with secondary progressive MS in 1990, but had been experiencing symptoms for more than 30 years before that. 

He volunteers at his local MS Society group and runs an MS discussion group in Barnet. He's also involved in a Jewish MS group which meets in Edgware.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel

I didn’t realise that there was anything wrong for years. I got optic neuritis when I was about 24 or 25, but no one had a clue what was going on. It was 35 years later, in 1990, when I had an MRI scan that I was finally diagnosed with secondary progressive MS.
