MS Society Annual Research Lecture
Our Annual Research Lecture will take place at the Royal Society, London, on Tuesday 19 May 2026 from 6:45pm.
We're delighted to announce our Annual Research Lecture for 2026.
The evening will begin with a drinks reception, where you'll have the opportunity to mix and mingle before the lecture begins.
Professor Alasdair Coles, Co-Director of our Cambridge Centre for Myelin Repair, will present his talk, 'Remyelination: The next phase of MS treatment'.
In this lecture, Professor Coles will reflect on the evolution of MS treatment, from early breakthroughs for relapsing MS, to recent pioneering efforts to repair damaged myelin. He’ll describe his vision for a future where the experience of having MS is radically different to today. And he'll set out his roadmap for bringing about a new class of MS treatments to help make that future a reality.
After the lecture, there will be a panel discussion with leading MS researchers, including:
- Professor Coles' collaborator and mentee, Dr Nick Cunniffe, who led our successful CCMR2 myelin repair trial, which reported positive results last year
- Professor Jeremy Chataway, Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions during this session.
After the Q&A, you'll be invited to stay for drinks and canapes, with the evening finishing at 9.30pm.
