National councils
Our councils for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales work on behalf of people affected by MS in each nation of the UK.
Each national council usually consists of 12 members. They are responsible for the overall direction of the MS Societies in their nation. Council members are expected to contribute to the development of the Society’s strategy, develop annual plans, act as ambassadors and promote, develop and support volunteers.
Councils typically meet four to five times a year. Council members are elected by members of the MS Society within their nation, and are ultimately accountable to the UK Board of Trustees.
