Our new Executive Director of Engagement and Income joins from ActionAid UK

We’re delighted Ed Tait has been appointed as our Executive Director of Engagement and Income Generation. He’ll join us in September from ActionAid UK where he’s currently Director of Fundraising.

Ed will oversee fundraising, digital and marketing. That includes our Stop MS Appeal which aims to raise £100 million for MS research.

Ed said: “The ambition of the MS Society is inspiring: to stop MS, support and advocate for the 130,000 people living with the condition. The charity’s passion, combined with the focus on co-production and impact is really exciting from an engagement and income generation perspective.”

Personal connection to MS

Ed adds: “My step-mum’s cousin was diagnosed with MS over 20 years ago. For many years, she lived with relatively minor symptoms, but recently her health has deteriorated significantly.

"It’s having a severe impact on her quality of life, as well as her wider family’s. It would be a privilege to join an organisation and help stop this happening to other people.”

Ed’s worked at a number of charities in fundraising positions, including Crisis – where he was Director of Fundraising for six years – Tommy’s and The Children’s Society.

Our Chief Executive, Nick Moberly, says: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Ed join us. He comes to us with more than 20 years of experience in the charity sector and we can’t wait for him to get started.”

Ed will take up the role in September and replaces Clare Horwood who left the charity in February.
