
MS Singing Group (LWUK)
Join our singing group with experienced music teacher Loulla. She'll be teaching you breathing techniques and ways to learn new songs.
We have a fantastic opportunity to host a MS Singing group which will run every Wednesday at 11am. We'll be starting on 21 May for six weeks.
In these sessions you’ll learn:
- Effective breath control
- Techniques for effective articulation and projection
- To listen to music mindfully
- A variety of songs including pop and classical
Loulla Gorman will be hosting the sessions. She’s a qualified music teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Music and more recently she's been involved in community music making.
She has experience of working with small groups of Parkinson’s patients as well as patients from integrated Neurological Services. Loulla lives with primary progressive MS and continues to play the trumpet in two orchestras. And in her own brass group which she loves!
The singing group will run every Wednesday at 11am on the following dates:
21 and 28 May
4, 11 ,18 and 25 June
What do I need to take part?
All you need to join in is a laptop, tablet, phone, or computer with access to a microphone and camera. You'll need a stable internet connection to use Zoom, the video meeting software we use.
What if I haven’t been sent the link?
The Living Well team sends out reminder emails with the link. You'll also get emails from Eventbrite, so please enter your email address carefully when registering. If you can't find these emails before the session, check your spam or junk folder. Alternatively, you can access the link by logging into your Eventbrite account.
When I join the event can other people see or hear me?
You can choose whether to have your camera and microphone on. Please keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking. The session will not be recorded.
Can I ask questions?
Yes, you’ll be able to ask questions when you register but also during the event. Please note we can’t respond or offer advice to questions about your specific circumstances or anything relating to your own personal health.
What should I do if I can no longer attend?
If you find that you are unable to take part please get in touch at [email protected] so we can offer up your place to someone else.
