A sport for everyone!

This is a new joint venture alongside the Isle of Wight Oddfellows Friendship Group and the Isle of Wight Stroke Club.

We intend to meet on the third Monday of each month during term time. The special deal we use isn't available during school holidays.

Because of this and the School's Easter Break we have had to move the date to a Tuesday, and it will be 25 April.

Ryde Seafront, Pavillion Building, Superbowl Entrance

We meet at Ryde Superbowl around 2.00pm for a 2.15pm start. The price for two games and a hot drink is £6.45 but it is free for anyone with MS.

Unfortunately evidence of diagnosis may be required at the first attendance to stop people from abusing the scheme.

Finish times vary according to how many people are in a lane and if players who use wheelchairs are using the ramps.

We normally finish sometime between 4.45 and 5pm.

Ryde Superbowl is situated close to the Hovercraft Terminal and is within the impressive, if somewhat neglected, Pavilion Building.

Event information

  • There are plenty of disabled parking spaces, either kerbside opposite or in the car parks - free for blue badge holders.
  • There are disabled toilets and a ramp which enables people in wheelchairs or using 'walkers' to roll their bowling balls.
  • This event is suitable for, and enjoyed by, people of all abilities and ages. One player said they were 79!
  • Beginners are welcome - there are balls of all weights and several of the lanes will have the 'bumpers' up to keep bowling balls on the straight and narrow.

To confirm you are attending please contact Jennie - by Friday 22nd April if possible.

Come along and give it a try. You will have fun, meet new people and make some new friends.

The Oddfellows

The Oddfellows Vecta Branch has a wide and varied calendar of events including theatre trips, card games and outings - some of which we are also welcome to attend (whether we join up as members or not).
