Marion has MS and loves a challenge, but hasn’t been able to find an accessible adrenalin event – until now.
I was delighted when Gemma from the MS Society Scotland's fundraising team invited me to go to Crieff Hydro in Perthshire, and check that their new zipslide event is accessible.
Flying like a superhero
It was a cold and frosty February day in Crieff, but swinging at the start I felt excited and happy.
As I zoomed across the slide I screamed with delight – the feeling of being suspended in mid-air was amazing!
Fun for everyone
The zipslide was something of an adventure which I was able to do, especially when I am trying to adapt to the ever changing aspects of MS. It’s a great event for all the family and I would absolutely encourage people to do it, and not see MS as a barrier.
The staff were supportive and inspired confidence - I felt very safe in their capable hands. The fact I needed extra help to use a hoist wasn’t an issue and I was never made to feel awkward or uncomfortable.
It was brilliant to be able to look forward to the zipslide and not have to worry about whether or not I would be able to take part, because I knew all the necessary arrangements had been made.
It certainly gets your adrenalin going, and you will be raising money for people living with MS in Scotland.
I am over the moon and overjoyed by the experience.
