Loneliness and isolation

Our research shows 60% of people living with MS feel lonely, and 58% feel isolated, because of their condition.

But our support and services can help to combat such feelings.

Almost 80% of people living with MS said being part of a local group helped reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.

MS meant I couldn’t carry on with work anymore, because I couldn’t move properly. I used to sit inside thinking 'I can’t work, but I can’t do this'.  Juanita has MS and lives in London

Here for everyone with MS

Living with MS can leave people feeling lonely and isolated. Our information, MS Helpline, grants, and local groups can make all the difference.

Last year our 270 local groups provided support, friendship and services to 13,000 people across the UK. And our MS Helpline responded to over 18,000 enquiries.

Donate to our Christmas appeal so we can help even more people in 2019.
