Borders General Hospital,
Hydrotherapy involves special exercises that you do in a warm-water pool.
If you are affected by MS, you may find that water therapy is the best way to stay physically active. The buoyancy of water helps to support weak limbs, making them feel lighter. Water also provides resistance, which helps to strengthen muscles. It may be easier to stand in the water than on dry land, and there is a lower risk of injury due to a fall.
