Event information

The service offers home visits to anyone who has MS and to a carers where applicable. The area for home visiting is Dorchester, Bridport and Weymouth and Portland areas, but we can also offer help over the telephone, and some quite in-depth work has been done for clients without a face-to-face meeting.

To date, the service has been mostly benefits advice, and never more so than now, with the transition from DLA to PIP.

For the 12 months preceding August 2016 the Citizens Advice caseworkers made 58 home visits, and around £200,000 in benefits (at an annual rate) was awarded as a consequence. However, any advice that you would normally expect from a Citizens Advice office is available, with the assurance that if we can’t help you, we’ll help you get in touch with someone who can.

Our current CAB caseworker Steve Pratt has worked at Dorchester Citizens Advice for eight years – giving generalist advice, debt advice and he specialises in disability benefits.
