Life doesn't stop when you are diagnosed with MS, even if it feels that way initially.
The unpredictability of the condition and the fact that symptoms can occur at any time can be frustrating and difficult to cope with. You may be thinking 'How can you plan the important things in life when you have no idea how you will be feeling from one day to the next?'.
It's true that sometimes people with MS find it harder to do the everyday things they once took for granted, such as housework, hobbies or spending time with family and friends.
"Having MS has changed my life. First you are in a state of shock but then you have to reassess things. I just don't let little things get me down now."
With a little advance planning, and acceptance that sometimes having MS might dictate how much you are able to do, it is perfectly possible to live with the condition.
