Become a Web Volunteer

  • Interested in developing your training or web skills?
  • Want to help support local activities?
  • Like meeting and helping people?

This is your opportunity to be part of a national programme that will provide great experience while also helping people with multiple sclerosis.

The MS Society is seeking a number of volunteers across the UK for the role of Branch Website Support Volunteer specifically in following regions:

The role will involve training branch volunteers in using the accredited branch website system and supporting them in it's use in order for a branch to launch and keep an up to date website.

The role is not an overly technical position and being able to easily use the Internet and email will be enough to meet the demands of this interesting opportunity.

For more information, and to apply for one of these roles, download the role description and application form below.

Applicants will be informally interviewed over the phone.

Training and Support

Volunteers will be required to visit London for a one-day training session at some point shortly after appointment. The training would usually take place on a weekday but weekend training could be arranged if necessary.

Ongoing training and support will be provided over the phone and by email from the web team at MS National Centre.

All legitimate expenses for travel and training associated with the role will be reimbursed.

Background information

The MS Society has a national office in London and a number of regions across the UK. Each region has local branches; the number and distance between them varies.

Branches provide information and support for people in the local area, and are entirely run by volunteers. Some branches already have websites while others do not.

The accredited branch website system has been very popular with branches involved in the pilot. It's free and easy to use, with an internet browser and connection being the only technology needed.
