MS Nurses

MS Nurses are specialist professionals who 'make a significant impact on the health of people with MS'. They give support, information and advice on symptom management and can make referrals to agencies who can help with claiming benefits and to appropriate health & social care professionals.

To access the services of any of Wales 9.5 nurses you will need to be registered with a neurologist covering that particular area.
North Wales

Based at Colwyn Bay Community Hospital, North Wales' only MS nurse is employed by the Walton Centre, Liverpool.  Contact 01745 443022

Mid-Wales (Montgomeryshire only)

Based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, the nurses are present at a weekly clinic in Shrewsbury and twice weekly clinics in Telford and make home visits within the Montgomeryshire area only. Contact 01902 721530 (Kate - answerphone) or 07974 930541 (Denise)

South East Wales

There are four MS nurses based at the University Hopsital of Wales in Cardiff.  Contact 029 20 745018.

The first three-year phase of the programme began in 1999 and has been the subject of an in-depth and rigorous evaluation by King's College London.
