Wales Neurological Alliance
The Wales Neurological Alliance was established in 2001 and formally launched in March 2002 by Jane Hutt, Minister for Health & Social Care.
It was set up to ensure that the interested of a substantial number of people affected by neurological conditions in Wales were appropriately addressed.
There are currently 20 member organisations (including MS Cymru, Parkinsons Society, Motor Neurone Association, Alzheimers Society, Huntingdon's Association to name but a few) meeting quarterly and working together on issues of common concern, whilst retaining the right to act independently in areas of specific concern to their own areas of interest.
The Alliance has close links with the National Assembly for Wales and is recognised by the Health Minister as a crucial link in the consultation process.
