Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales/Cymru
Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales/Cymru was formally constituted in November 2001 to reflect the political structure in Wales and to better serve the needs of all those affected by MS.
If any one phrase could sum up our work to date, it would be "Un llais Un Genedl". Translated this means "One Voice One Nation" and accurately sums up the main three objectives of MS Cymru, namely: - A single voice for Wales
- A link to the Welsh Assembly government, and
- A means of sharing information, ideas and joint initiatives across Wales
Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales/Cymru's first priority was to develop a three year Strategic Plan and all short and medium-term goals have been achieved. Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales/Cymru has now produced a new Business Plan outlining their work to 2008. Central to the long-term strategy has been to establish a National Centre for Wales to consolidate the work done to date, provide a focal point for service delivery for the MS community in Wales and to ensure that Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales/Cymru develops a unique identity that healthcare professionals, politicians and people with MS, family and carers in Wales can relate to. Our office in Cardiff is now established. Other exciting initiatives include our Welsh Language Policy, plans for a mobile information centre servicing the whole of Wales, and our annual Education Days for healthcare professionals.
