Our Mission and Strategies

The MS Society’s mission is ‘to enable everyone affected by MS to live life to their full potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure’, with a key ambition ‘to beat MS’. These are values that MS Cymru firmly upholds.

MS Cymru aims to raise awareness and understanding of MS in Wales; to make MS a priority at political level and to lobby for the improvement of quality of MS services in Wales, and to provide support and information to people with MS, their carers, family, friends and health and social care professionals. MS Cymru encourages and supports research into MS, its cause and control.

Where our work is carried out

The MS Society Cymru’s strategic work is driven via the national office in Cardiff.

MS Cymru also provides a host of MS services across Wales through its network of local MS Society branches.

Funding our work

The MS Society Cymru receives no government funding and thus relies primarily on community support to raise the funds we need to sustain and develop our services.

Governed by people with MS

As a membership organisation, we involve the MS community in all of our activities. The MS Society board of trustees and the MS Cymru Council are elected from, and by, members of the MS Society.
