Volunteer recognition: it's important to say thank you

Everyone likes to feel appreciated and to be thanked. There are a couple of ways that you can recognise a volunteer's contribution to your branch.

Shining Star Award

Each year, every branch is encouraged to give one Shining Star award to an outstanding volunteer. If someone has really made a difference to your branch, a Shining Star award could be a suitable way of saying thank you.

Branches should be sent a Shining Star nomination form towards the end of March. Most regions hold a special awards ceremony later in the year where the Shining Stars are presented. If you would rather present the award at your AGM or another branch event, please contact us for a nomination form.

Certificate

Alternatively, certificates are available for branches. There are two types of certificate - the first is a blank certificate for the branch to complete, sign and present as they wish. The second is prepared for you at the MS National Centre and signed by the Chief Executive and National Chairman.

If you would like us to create one for you, we will need the correct spelling of the person's name, and a sentence saying what the certificate is being presented for, for example "Eight years of dedicated service to the Anytown branch".
