Training
Training provided by external organisations
There are local organisations who provide free or low cost relevant training that you can access for all of your volunteers. This training is normally provided by Councils for Voluntary Services (CVS) or Volunteer Centres.
Below are details of the training that is on offer in your region.
Councils for Voluntary Services promote and develop local voluntary and community action and provide support for voluntary and community groups, individual volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations.
You can find your nearest CVS in the local phone directory or at the NAVCA website.
Volunteer Centres provide advice, training, support and information on volunteering issues.
You can find your nearest Volunteer Centre in the local phone directory or at the Volunteering England Website.
Train to Gain
‘Train to Gain’ is government funding for vocational qualifications that has recently been made available to volunteers. The funding is available for almost any vocational qualification and may be of interest to some volunteers and staff. There are, of course, many other criteria to meet. The short briefing below sets out the funding criteria and suggests how this funding may be of use to volunteers and staff within the Society.
