We're all walked out..!
Walking events are popular fundraisers. Here are three walking events branches have been involved in ... and what the participants have to say about them!
Bigfoot
"A brilliant event with loads of fantastic support from walkers and volunteers. As always the route was great, through fields filled with rather mean but placid looking cows and along the canals we went and it only rained a little bit on Sunday.Another wonderful event."
Littlefoot
These 10km one day walking events are aimed at families who like to get out and explore the countryside. Here are some lovely comments from participants, and don't worry if you missed out, you can take part next year!
- It was lovely walking through the beautiful gardens at Stourhead and enjoying the stunning views knowing that you were raising funds for such a little known condition. My husband and I felt privileged to be part of the event
- Lovely walk through beautiful countryside, we were chased by a herd of cows!
- I loved being greeted and encouraged by all the crew and support staff and the congratulations at the finish was brilliant
- My favourite part of the day was actually being the last to finish..! My medal was put around my neck instead of passed to me and that made a huge difference, very personal!
- The beautiful gardens of Stourhead were a pleasure and the thought that all the people there on the day were there for one reason made for a great day.
Wheel & Walk
"What a great success! A 3.5km fully accessible route for all our supporters."
Here are some great comments and of course watch this space to participate next year!
- We loved sharing and being part of the first ever Wheel & Walk. We look forward to many more.
- Seeing our 21 month old little boy running around in one of the Wheel and Walk t-shirts (down to his ankles) with a huge grin on his face was a great part of the day. Also knowing that for giving up a few hours of our time we had helped to raise some money for a really worthwhile cause.
- I really enjoyed the beautiful location. We had never been to Stourhead before and are really glad to have experienced it.
- The children loved their T shirts and the medals were great!
- It was a great day that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
