MS Week (2010) press pack for branches
The theme of this year's MS Week is 'The Right to a Full Life'. The MS Society aims to:
• Promote better understanding of the inequalities people face across the UK
• Encourage individuals to lobby their local MP and support the MS Society’s campaigning efforts by joining the Campaigns Network and signing the e-petition
• Publicise the MS Society as the best source of information and support for everyone living with MS in the UK
Below you'll find a template press release you can send to your local newspaper and radio station - please ensure you replace the red text with the relevant information, in black.
Alternatively, you can complete the template letter to your newspaper editor and send that through. This might be more appropriate for you if you aren’t confident at speaking on the radio and haven't any 'case studies' to include in the press release.
Please do not send both the letter and the press release to your local paper.
We recommend that either the letter or the press release is sent via email to the media outlet two weeks before MS Week, and that you chase up your email with a phone call a week before MS Week.
