What can I take to the charity shop?

We appreciate every donation that you make but there are some items that we are restricted from selling and we would be grateful for your support in not donating these.

We CANNOT SELL the following items:

  1. Knives or guns.
  2. Large items of furniture or white goods.
  3. Toys without CE labels.
  4. Pushchairs and prams.
  5. Prescription glasses, spectacle frames and sunglasses.
  6. Electrical items without “moulded on plugs”, wall or ceiling lights, electric blankets, heaters and microwaves
  7. Coat hangers
  8. Crash helmets, bike helmets, and car seats (they could have been in an accident).
  9. Upholstered furniture without a permanent flammability label, unless it was made before 1950.
  10. Children’s clothing (anything designed for persons aged between three months and 13 years of age) with a drawstring neck.
  11. Nightwear without a label to indicate whether it meets the flammability requirements.
  12. Oil or gas heaters.
  13. Used cosmetics.
  14. DVD’s, videos and computer games that do not have a legal age classification on them.
