The Impact of Self Management courses on People with MS
Since 2004 Coventry University has worked with the MS Society to evaluate the impact of self management courses on people with MS.
The research into this study is now complete and a summary of the report is outlined below.
The research report into the Impact of Self management courses on people with MS found the course showed improvements in self efficacy and depression, although people with MS had better self efficacy and psychological well being at the onset, compared to some other conditions.
The report suggests that CDSMC may be particular benefit to people with MS experiencing mild to moderate levels of anxiety and depression. The report also highlights that some people felt the course to be too basic, and would welcome a more advanced course.
