There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that SF1019 has analgesic (pain reducing) properties and can reduce inflammation. However, MS is not the current target of the company’s efforts. There is no formal trial, research evidence or published information available to back up the anecdotal claims.Should I take it?
Argyll Biotechnologies have stated that whilst they are considering undertaking a clinical trial for MS in the future, that for the present SF1019 is not licensed for use in the UK and is therefore not available on the NHS.As with any therapy or potential therapy, the MS Society recommends people with MS should consult their neurologist before embarking on treatment. Neurologists can be expected to be cautious about prescribing the drug until peer-reviewed evidence from trials of the drug's effectiveness and safety is published.
