Are you a carer who could use an evening out occasionally with people in a similar situation?
The West Midlands Carer's Group is a self-help group for any carer of someone with MS, launched in October 2007 by the MS Society at Bromsgrove. The objective is for carers to make friends, support each other through our ups and downs, and to have an enjoyable evening out.
We usually meet in a quiet pub/eatery every couple of months for an informal evening, usually involving a meal and drinks.
Directions and future dates are listed in our group events section.
Personally I find I always come away having gleaned useful bits of information, and feel less burdened for knowing I have friends who understand.
If you would like more information contact me by email.

Why would you come to TimeOut? Maybe it’s an evening out, to have a laugh and let your hair down, or a chance to talk about something that you can't share with your carer or family, or maybe an opportunity to make some new friends if you have been socially isolated for a while. It's an opportunity to step outside your day to day world for a while and relax. We try to make it light and fun so hopefully you'll feel a bit uplifted before you leave.
Initially we are looking to start a local informal get together in the Herefordshire/ Worcestershire/Wyre Forest area, and we'd welcome your feedback on what would be most accessible for local carers.
We need your feedback!
We need to know a bit about you to help us set up TimeOut to be as accessible to as many people as possible. What suits you? A day time or evening meet? Week day or weekend? Coffee/walks/dinner? In a city centre or an out of town venue? If this might be for you, or you have any thoughts on this, please register your interest with me, Jill Crawley by email, or telephone 01684 592901.
See you soon!
