In the London Region we work in a team. The team comprises an Area Manager, one Service Development Officer, two Local Support Development Officers and one Volunteer Development Officer.
My role is to lead the London staff team to deliver the Society’s service development and local support activities to achieve maximum benefit for people affected by MS.
The Local Support Development Officers can provide direct ongoing support to the branches with the assistance of the regional committee, through organising training and information events at a local level.
I work with health and social care professionals in South London to improve services for people affected by MS. My role is to identify gaps in services, such as a lack of specialist nursing or rehabilitation services, and to make the case for change. I also organise conferences and events for professionals to ensure good practice is disseminated. I work closely with doctors, nurses and therapists, those affected by MS, volunteers and commissioners.
My role is to work with health and social care professionals, service managers and commissioners to raise standards in health and social care according to the needs of people with MS.
I provide support and guidance to the area team, regional committee, support groups and branches on recruiting and developing volunteers.
