They asked the School’s major suppliers to donate a gift. Each gift was then raffled and auctioned at a prestigious dinner at the Devonshire Conference Centre, close to the School’s elegant Royal Hill premises in Greenwich.

The healthy sum of £1600 was raised, and a giant cheque was presented by local Member of Parliament Nick Raynsford – himself a patron of the Multiply Sclerosis Society – to Support Officer Valerie Cann and Treasurer Danny Mott of the Greenwich branch of the MS Society. Also in attendance at the presentation of the cheque was the Principal, William Hunt and his colleague Brian Buckley, who as well as working at the School is Chair of the Greenwich branch of the MS Society.

The tangible benefits of this innovative donation were noted by Valerie, “We are deeply grateful and very touched by the generosity of the staff of Greenwich School of Management and their business partners. The money will go toward two key projects. We operate a free taxi service to allow MS patients to get about easily and in comfort, whether it be to a clinic or a trip to Bluewater, and we are also actively pursuing a facility for a specialist physiotherapist to be available at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. It is all about improving the quality of life, and we simply couldn’t begin to offer such support without such thoughtful gestures”.

For the record, the caring suppliers and their memorable gifts included an annual Friends Membership from the National Maritime Museum; a helicopter trip over London, courtesy of Hot Courses; Europa Quality Print provided a laptop computer, and Accountants Atkins & Partners donated a very desirable DVD player.
