Furness is a peninsula in the southern part of Cumbria, in north-west England. The area is divided into Low Furness and High Furness. The Furness region consists mostly of low-lying hills, forests and flats, with some higher ground towards the north. It has been suggested that St Patrick was born in the area!
The highest point of the region is Coniston Old Man at 803 m (2634 ft).
