Family Focus Day at Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch, Ashford on Saturday 6th June 2009
The Kent MS Society Regional Team held a very successful Family Focus Day at the Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch, Ashford on Saturday 6th June 2009.
52 people attended and invested great energy in discussing (in groups) the highs and lows of family life, whilst living with MS. People shared experiences and knowledge with one another in a supportive environment.
The children who attended contributed greatly to the discussions, sharing the experience and insight of a child being affected by MS within the family.
A lovely lunch was provided, as well as free entry to the Rare Breeds Centre. Most people went to see the animals after the sessions as the weather was warm and inviting.
British Energy kindly provided the funding for this event by naming the MS Society their charity of the year.
If anyone attended and was affected by the day the MS Society helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am-9pm. The staff and trained volunteers would be happy to speak with you Tel: 0808 800 8000.
Another Family Focus Day is planned for 2010.
