Great Yarmouth and District

A ship at Great Yarmouth
Great Yarmouth is one of the country's most popular seaside resorts, with miles of sandy beaches. It is proud of its maritime heritage.

Great Yarmouth and surrounding area members meet locally and have regular trips. The branch runs information events and provides support for people who have MS (multiple sclerosis). They also do a 'ring round' when they telephone members that would like to have a regular chat.

The branch is holding regular 'drop ins' and information events in The Christ Church Centre, Kings Street, Great Yarmouth. They are held the first Thursday of every month 11.30am - 2pm. Pop in to get information and advice or just for a coffee. The branch would particularly like to see younger and newly diagnosed people. They have the facilities to provide confidential support at the centre.

New Information Centre for the area.

The Branch opened a new information point in October 2009 at 12, Baker Street, Gorleston. It is hoped the new venture can be opened on a daily basis, but this will depend on the availability of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer the Branch would love to hear from you. Ring 0775 8123 653 for details and opening times.

Congratulations to Joy Fowler-Dixon on being short listed for a Star of the MS Community award, for all your hard work and dedication in setting up the new Great Yarmouth Information Centre. Joy worked very hard along with a team of Branch members. Well done Joy and everyone else involved with the venture.
