Warringtons include Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, the Town Hall and its gates, which are painted in real gold and the Alice in Wonderland statue commemorating the writer Lewis Carrol.

A number of festivals, carnivals, and walking days are held annually in the Warrington area. Warrington Walking Day is held on the closest Friday to the last day of June, and includes the annual fair.

Warrington was once the beer capital of Britain because so much beer was brewed here.
