Bootle is undergoing a massive regeneration project. Many old houses are being demolished to make way for new housing projects and lots of regeneration projects for existing properties and council buildings should be finished by the end of 2006. Crosby straddles the Irish Sea, it is a mainly residential area with a coastline of sands - including the Blundell Sands, thus named for the Blundell family. One of the most historic, interesting features of Crosby is that this was once the home of the ill-fated ship "Titanic".
