Commissioning Support welcomes new lead

01 Jun 2009

Commissioning Support (CS) is delighted to announce that today (1 June 2009) Sue Thomas has joined the team as Head of CS.

Commissioning Support is a joint initiative comprising the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, the MS Society and the Parkinson’s Disease Society. The programme works alongside PCTs and Local Authorities to ensure that people living with long-term neurological conditions are at the heart of commissioning, producing clear recommendations to deliver better outcomes for services in neurology.

Sue is a registered nurse and midwife with a strong background in national policy and a special interest in long-term neurological conditions. Having provided expert advice to a number of national working groups in the past including the National Service Framework for Long-Term Conditions, she continues to hold an advisory role on several prominent groups today.

She is a partner of the Royal College of Physicians National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions Advisory Group, has been published widely in nursing and medical press, is a Florence Nightingale Scholar, Winston Churchill Fellow and past winner of the Mali Jenkins award from the Parkinson’s Disease Society.

The MND Association, MS Society and Parkinson’s Disease Society welcome Sue to her new role.

For more information on Commissioning Support call 0208 438 0715 or email info@csupport.org.uk.
