20th May 2006 - Sheffield Living with MS Day
Just over 150 people attended this event in May
Dr Sian Price, a Consultant neurologist gave a speech on 'The Facts about MS'. The information sessions followed this talk on:
- Fatigue and MS
- Carers caring for themselvesĀ
- Mobility and Seating
- Cognitive psychological issues for PaMS
8th July 2006 - Basingstoke Living with MS
Just over 130 people attended this event in July
Dr Alexandre J Burnfield FRCPsych gave the speech on 'The Facts about MS'. The information sessions followed this talk on:
- Fatigue and MS
- Carers caring for themselves
- Speech and Language issues in MS
- Cognitive issues in MS
30th September 2006 - Exeter Living with Primary Progressive MS
Just over 100 people attended this event in September
Dr Gordon Ingle, a neurologist from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital gave a talk on 'Understanding Primary Progressive MS' which included current research and future directions. Sessions following this talk included:
- Healthy bladder and bowel (by Nollie Biggins)
- Mobility and Seating
- Health and Sexuality
25th November 2006 - Bolton Living with MS
Over 100 people attended the day and learned about living with MS and also had the opportunity to share information and experiences with other people affected by MS.
The day included sessions on:
- Fatigue management in MS (Adrienne Cox, Debbie Richardson and Shirley Mitchell)
- Carers caring for themselves (Jim Chong)
- Cognitive issues for people affected by MS (Dr Anita Rose)
- Direct Payments – could it work for you? (Gavin and Karen Croft)
2nd December 2006 - Waltham Abbey Living with MS
The day included sessions on:
- Fatigue management in MS
- Carers caring for themselves (carers only)
- Employment, Benefits and your rights
- Exercise and MS
