Living with MS in Cambridge was an information day for people with MS and their carers held at the Cambridge Belfry. The event provided an opportunity to learn about how to live with MS and also share information and experiences with other people affected by MS.
The day began with a welcome and introduction by Geoff Wilson, the Chair of the Mid-Anglia Regional Committee. Then John Thorpe, Consultant Neurologist from the Edith Cavell Hospital in Peterborough discussed 'The facts about MS'.
The day will then broke into sessions, which included:
- Continence Issues - by Jennie Edis, MS Specialist Nurse from Cambs PCT
- Carers Presentation - by Christine Atkinson, Manager of Peterborough Carers Centre
- Cognitive Problems and tips for coping - Dr Liz Doherr, Chartered Clinical Psychologist
- Physiotherapy in the Management of MS (Exercise) and (Handy hints) by Holly Gray, Senior Community Physiotherapist, Peterborough PCT
