Event: Living with MS Leicester
Location: Holiday Inn, Leicester
Living with MS in Leicester was an enjoyable and informative information day for people with MS and their carers held at the Holiday Inn, Leicester. The event provided the opportunity to learn about Living with MS and also to share information and experiences with other people affected by MS.
The day was introduced by David Lusk, Regional Service development Manager for the Midlands and Mid-Anglia region of the MS Society.
There was also be a talk on the ' Facts about MS' from Dr. Brian Kendall, Associate Specialist in Neurology from Leicester General Hospital.
The day then broke out into sessions, which included :
- Continence Management- by Tracey Longhurst, a Continence Advisor and Service Manager for the Northampton Continence Advice Service.
- Carers caring for themselves (Carers Only) - by Sonia Bray, Centre Manager for CLASP, the Carers Centre in Leicester.
- Cognitive Problems - by Declan McNicoll, Consultant Neuro Clinical Psychologist from Leicester University Hospital Trust
- Physiotherapy in the Management of MS by Lal Russell and Juliet Brisco, Senior Physiotherapists from Linden Lodge Neuro Rehabilitation Unit in Nottingham.
