Everest Base Camp Trek

05 December 2008 to 21 December 2008, Nepal

This outstanding trek to the base camp of the world's highest mountain crosses the lush valleys of the Sagarmatha National Park, allowing time to explore its villages and monasteries, and sample the hospitality of the Sherpa people.

Sitting on the rooftop of the world, Nepal provides the ideal geographical and spiritual backdrop for a demanding, but rewarding, challenge.

Your Adventure begins at Lukla, from where you trek to Phakding and onto the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar.

You'll acclimatise steadily, as the trail meanders over and around numerous rivers to Thyangboche, where the views of Mt. Everest are spectacular. Your trek leads gradually uphill with constant views of the snow-capped mountains.

You reach a high point at Kalapatthar with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers-Everest is now just a stones throw away! Triumphant at reaching Base Camp you descend back through Sherpa villages, before reaching Lukla via Thyangboche and Namche Bazaar.

Exhausted but elated, you will travel onto Kathmandu for a chance to explore the city before flying home.

Payment Options


There are two payment options available:

Option One

  • Full Cost: 1,768* (including £100 donation to the MS Society)
  • Sponsorship: As much as possible
  • Travel Insurance:£67*


Option Two

  • Deposit: £475*
  • Minimum Sponsorship: 2,650**
  • Travel Insurance: £67*

* Costs may vary at the time of booking.

**80% of the Minimum sponsorship must have been received by the Society at least 10 weeks before the departure date .

How to Book


Our overseas challenges are managed by Charity Challenge an external tour operator. If you email us we can send you out a tour brochure, but please check their site before downloading the booking form.
